“… self-knowledge through awareness is the goal of reeducation. As we become aware of what we are doing in fact, and not what we say or think we are doing, the way to improvement is wide open to us.”  – Moshe Feldenkrais

Dr. Moshe Feldenkrais, D. Sc. (1904-1984) was a scientist,  judo master, author, and teacher who, in learning to recover from his own crippling knee injuries, developed the method that bears his name. He viewed individual human beings as integrated in a system that includes social, cultural, and environmental influences. He brought together ideas from many disciplines and found ways to apply them in experiential learning. His writings and lessons demonstrate how by learning to pay careful attention to one’s sensory-motor experience, ignorance is replaced by awareness, reducing suffering and improving the quality of life.
